Timeline Since Awis:

Coyote & Crow Timeline

Year 1: The Awis event occurs. Known as "The Darkened Land" or "Darkest Night," a purple streak passes through the sky, visible to various tribes. Soon after, a strange ash falls, and an early winter begins.

Years 2–115: Winters become extremely long and harsh. The northern ice sheet expands southward, forcing populations in Makasing to migrate south. Resource scarcity leads to widespread conflict and significant loss of life.

Years 115–140: Weather eases briefly, allowing for some recovery. Populations increase slightly. The Haudenosaunee alliance forms in the east, and Cahokia is reestablished along the Mizizibi River.

Years 141–168: Harsh weather returns. Tribes focus on enhancing food security through cooperation and organized farming, which becomes essential for survival.

Year 169: A visionary Two-Spirit leader in the Southwest introduces base-twelve mathematics, laying the foundation for future advancements in math and engineering. This development sparks advances in irrigation and large-scale farming.

Years 170–280: A transformative era for farming, medicine, and technology ensues. Conflict diminishes, mortality drops, and mathematics gains sacred significance, heralding an engineering golden age.

Years 280–296: The Adanadi, a purple stain, begins to appear on animals, plants, and people, seen as a positive omen. Herbalists and farmers begin cultivating the Adanadi in various forms.

Years 297–365: The Haudenosaunee grow in power, influencing other tribes and forming alliances. Five main regions emerge on the continent: Southwest, Northwest, Southeast, Northeast, and Central. Cahokia, in the Central region, becomes a hub for trade, spirituality, and scholarship.

Years 366–420: Scholars and medicine practitioners discover how concentrated Adanadi can enhance abilities in humans, making this transformation a sacred rite of passage for youth.

Years 421–503: The Adanadi fuels rapid growth in technology, politics, and culture. Small wars arise over resources, especially farmland and freshwater sources. 3D printing, or "gats," emerges, and science and mathematics become integral to daily life.

Years 504–518: Improved weather allows the nations of Makasing to meet in Cahokia and discuss exploration beyond the continent, as previously the northern ice sheet made travel perilous.

Years 518–550: Explorer groups venture out, with few returning. Those who do speak of barren lands, mythical creatures, and powerful beings wielding Adanadi abilities. Most stories become rumors or remain classified by governments.

Years 550–612: Harsh weather returns, discouraging further exploration. Religious movements arise, interpreting the explorers' return and weather changes as signs against exploring beyond Makasing.

Years 612–623: The All Tribes War breaks out, starting as a conflict between the Ezcan Empire and the Diné Republic. The war drags multiple nations into economic ruin across Makasing, Abayang, and Abazang. Cahokia remains largely unscathed and is recognized as a world power.

Years 624–697: A period of peace and growth follows. Despite thriving trade, isolationism, nationalism, and tribalism gradually take hold.

Years 698–709: The climate stabilizes, returning to pre-Awis levels. Calmer seas and new technology support a boom in resources, food, and technological progress.

Year 710: Cahokia is shocked by The Rock Breaker Plot.

Year 720-723: The Nibaathanka forced many to flee there homes, and many more to adapt to harsh weather once again.
