Adanadi

The Adanadi is a mystical force that touches all living beings, profoundly shaping society, science, and culture. Revered as "The Gift," the Adanadi has been considered sacred for generations and is cultivated with care. Its manifestation is a deep purple, similar to the hue of The Awis, which has led to the color being associated with The Great Spirit and considered a sacred symbol.

Approximately 200 years after The Awis event, distinctive marks began appearing on plants, animals, and eventually humans, signifying the presence of the Adanadi. Since then, it has been extracted and utilized in various ways, including drugs, rituals, and paints. The advancement of science and technology brought new understanding of this life force, revealing that the Adanadi appears differently across species and is, in fact, a living entity itself.

Concentrating the Adanadi from animals and administering it to adolescents results in physiological changes, and some individuals develop special powers known as Abilities. The type of animal from which the Adanadi is sourced determines the individual's Path, or life direction. In the city of Cahokia, 99% of the population has undergone this ceremony, though only 20% gain an Ability associated with their Path.

Today, most Adanadi is synthesized in labs, removing the need to source it from animals. The ceremony for receiving the Adanadi lasts about 48 hours and can be administered through eye drops or injections.

Abilities and the Paths

The ceremony for receiving Abilities is typically a joyful occasion, but Path divisions exist in society. Some Abilities stir controversy. For instance, athletic abilities raise debates about fairness in sports, while powers like "Wasp Sting," which allows someone to harm others without physical contact, raise ethical concerns. Some Abilities even pose privacy risks.

While common, some individuals choose to keep their Abilities hidden. Social clubs often form around specific Paths, creating a sense of identity and belonging for those who have undergone the ceremony. The manner in which Abilities are summoned varies widely—some prefer shouts, war cries, or hand signals, often reflecting their personality, beliefs, or cultural background.

Although some Abilities can be called upon instantly, others may take time to summon, requiring patience and practice to master their full potential.
