The All Tribes War began as a dispute between the Ezcan Empire and the Dine Republic but rapidly escalated, drawing in nations from both continents and economically crippling the vast majority of countries in Makasing, Abazang, and Abayang (North, Central, and South America). Amidst the chaos, Cahokia emerged relatively unscathed and gained recognition as one of the most important cities in the world. During the conflict, captives from the Keetoowagi Federation and the Free Cities were offered citizenship by the Haudenosaunee and integrated into the clans that captured them. This led to the formation of a diverse and populous nation, combining refugees, conquered peoples, and willing allies into a cosmopolitan society that would come to define the continent.
