Haudenosaunee
Haudenosaunee, known as Hadanosani in Chahi, is a powerful confederation of nation-states in the Northeast, composed of numerous people groups. When refugees arrived near the Sogami, the five resident nations formed a confederation to ensure stability and maintain regional dominance. Those willing to assimilate into local clans were accepted as equals. Over time, the Haudenosaunee waged war on smaller surrounding tribes, integrating them as quasi-independent vassal states. In the All Tribes War, captives from the Keetoowagi Federation and the Free Cities were offered citizenship within the clans that captured them. Thus, the five founding nations created a highly diverse and populous nation from refugees, conquered nations, and allies.

Government and Politics
The Haudenosaunee is governed by a Grand Council that operates by consensus, with no head of state. Each of the five original nations elects a Sachem to the Grand Council, where major decisions require unanimous consent. Legislation is managed by the Council of Sagamores, a bicameral body with two houses of 56 members each. The senior house, Kanonhsa Lakoia, is composed entirely of women and has the authority to remove members from the lower house, Kanonhsa Rake, which is composed of men. For legislation to pass, both houses must agree, with a 75% majority required in each.
Economy and Technology
The northeastern cities are densely populated and prosperous. As the Five Nations grew, their historical lands became key centers of trade, diplomacy, and finance. The largest continent-wide metropolis lies between the eastern shores of Esogami and the eastern seaboard. Algonquin refugees played a vital role in establishing trade routes and canals, connecting Haudenosaunee to the Free Cities. Haudenosaunee technology spans agriculture, communications, and warfare, with notable contributions to Daso technology. Centuries of conquest have integrated entire industrial bases into the Haudenosaunee military, creating a formidable force.
Society and Culture
The Haudenosaunee are known for tolerance, allowing anyone to become a citizen, including former prisoners of war. Those who do not assimilate, however, face near-total disenfranchisement. While Chahi is essential for trade, native speakers are often relegated to second-class status in a Confederacy that values cultural heritage predating the Awis. At the top of the social hierarchy are the Yavi, descendants of influential early Confederacy members, who are major power brokers continent-wide. At the bottom are the Unlad, primarily Cree and Anishinabe descendants working as traders and domestic workers without full integration. The Gatli, descendants of mixed heritage, maintain a distinct culture and role, with several northern towns granted partial enfranchisement. Gatli serve as intermediaries and are known for exploring northern permafrost in search of rare materials and manifestations of the Gift.

Keepers of the Fire: A hereditary society overseeing official ceremonies, investing and removing officials, and inaugurating legislative sessions. They act as regulators of Adanadi.
Mingo: Frontier lawmen enforcing order across cities, though some view them as vigilantes.
Kari Kehro: Builders and engineers who control labor markets and influence politics, often using freelancers for extra-legal enforcement.
Northmen: Primarily Gatli explorers of the permafrost, facing lethal conditions to gather resources vital for the Confederacy.
