716 Lines in the Sand

In the aftermath of The Rock Breaker Plot, Nukazii dove into researching the information he had uncovered about Dine Republic communications and technology. With the new insight, he and Kimi approached Tapatinaptac with an idea for a mission to intercept Dine communications from within Dine. Tapatinaptac, as a seasoned scout, chose to lead the mission himself because neither Kimi nor Nukazii had experience in the wild.

The three of them set out from Cahokia through the trade network, disguised as merchants. Along the way they diverted from the rest of the traders on foot. For three days they hiked through the desert until they found a conduit running a few feet underground made of a deep purple crystal. Using the equipment the brought they discovered that the crystal was vibrating in patterns. They took a sample of the crystal and left behind a monitoring device. The device consisted of a large solar panel array and an AM radio antenna, both of which could change color and texture to blend in. AM radio was chosen due to it's obscure nature.

After successfully connecting their device, they set back out to The Free Lands. On the way, they were ambushed by Ninataka slavers. In a tight situation, Tapatinaptac allowed himself and the others to be taken.

In the night, Tapatinaptac and Kimi took an opportunity to activate their Chameleon's Shine and surprise the slavers. In the chaos they managed to retrieve most of their stuff. When they went to flee, Tapatinaptac attacked, giving Kimi and Nukazii the chance to escape. Unsure of his fate, Kimi and Nukazii managed to use enough of the skills they were taught by Tapatinaptac to find a road and hitchhike back to Cahokia.

Upon arrival, they are happy to see that information was already being transmitted to Cahokia. The Kaya Crystals they retrieved were used to create similar substances that could be used for many purposes. With more people assigned to the job, the information that was intercepted was quickly analyzed.
