About:
The Free Lands, while recognized as one of the Five Nations of Makasing, differ significantly from the other nations due to their lack of defined borders. Unlike other territories, the Free Lands operate as a collection of autonomous city-states led by Cahokia, which advocates for the belief that neither individuals nor governments should claim extensive territories solely for themselves. This autonomy and resistance to consolidation are sources of pride for Cahokia and the other smaller groups within the Free Lands. In practice, the stability and survival of these independent groups are largely attributed to Cahokia’s considerable international influence. The Free Lands are home to various notable groups, each with unique cultures and identities shaped from pre-Awis tribes and nations. Now, these groups consider themselves distinct from real-world tribes, embodying a unique identity within the Free Lands.
